Meetup uses one-time verification codes to help protect your account from unauthorized access. When required, the code is sent to the email address associated with your account and must be entered to complete login.
When verification codes are required
You may be asked to enter a verification code if:
You’re signing in from a new device or location
We detect unusual activity on your account
Additional security checks are needed
How verification codes work
A verification code is sent by email when you try to log in.
Each code can be used only once.
If you request multiple codes, only the most recent code will work.
Not receiving your verification code?
If you don’t receive the verification code email, follow these steps in order.
1. Check your email folders
Look for an email with the subject “Your one-time passcode.”
Check your spam or junk folder.
2. Make sure Meetup emails aren’t blocked
Add these email addresses to your contacts, then request a new code:
3. Request a new code
Return to the login screen and request another code.
Copy and paste the most recent code you receive.
4. If you’re signing in from the mobile app
If the code still doesn’t arrive or doesn’t work in the app, try:
Uninstalling the Meetup app
Restarting your device
Reinstalling the app
Temporary login workaround
In limited cases, we may be able to apply a temporary login workaround to help you access your account.
Important details:
The workaround is temporary and expires after a short time.
It does not remove the verification requirement.
It cannot be made permanent.
When enabled, it may allow you to log in using your email address and password during the active window.
