As a member, you can access Meetup for free and join unlimited groups to attend events. To get more out of the experience and avoid limitations, we suggest upgrading to Meetup+! Once you subscribe to Meetup+, you get full access to what Meetup can offer to members: prioritized access to events, the full list of who’s going to attend an event, access to other members’ profiles according to their privacy settings… the list goes on and you can review it in the table below or in the article Upgrading to Meetup+.
Organizers always need a subscription to be able to create and organize groups or events. Depending on your needs, you can choose among different plans:
A newly registered, first-time organizer may opt for our Starter plan, which comes for free and is thought to help you discover your potential using a limited set of features to start your journey.
From there, you’re free to upgrade to a Standard plan to organize up to three groups and skip the limitations of the Starter plan. The table below shows a comprehensive list of all the benefits included in this offer.
Upgrading to our Pro Organizers plan lifts all sorts of limitations: organize as many groups as you like, link them all under one single network, get access to Pro dashboard and your network’s data and analytics. The best plan for organizers who want to unleash the full power of Meetup.

How can I upgrade to get more advantages on Meetup?
👉 If you are a member and would like to upgrade to a Meetup+ subscription, here’s the flow to follow:
Go to the account Account Settings in the Meetup app
Click on Meetup+ subscription on the left-side
Tap on Upgrade now

This option is reserved for anyone looking to start their first Meetup group. If you already have a paid plan or belong to a sponsored Meetup Pro network, the Starter plan option won't be available at checkout, as you're not eligible for the plan.
👉 To upgrade to the Standard Organizer subscription, you can set up it during the process of creating your first Meetup group or upgrade to it once you subscribe to a Starter Organizer plan. Learn more about it in the article Standard Organizer subscription.
👉 To start with a Pro Organizer subscription, you can firstly get a 1-week free trial and check out how the Pro subscription helps you create your community. Right after this period, the Pro subscription begins and is billed automatically at the end of the trial. The article Meetup Pro pricing and trial offers additional insights on this topic.
Note: If you're already on a Starter or Standard plan, all of the groups you already organize will bs included in your new Pro subscription. Once you upgrade, your current groups gain access to Pro features as it's not possibl to keep some groups as Standard and only upgrade others to Pro.
At the same time, the upgrade cancels your Standard Organizer plan — even if you start a Pro free trial — and any unused time from that plan is applied as a credit toward the next billing cycle of your new Pro subscription.
