As much as we strive to avoid disruptions with events creation and editing, you may sometimes encounter some issues or inconsistencies when editing an already existing events. There are a few known issues we're currently working on:
-
The edits I make on past events don't save. When editing the guest count or the attendance of a member for a past event (for instance: you manually mark a member as attending to one of your past events), you may sometimes see that your edits don't stick and that the changes you make aren't saved for that event. We are aware of this inconsistency and we're working hard to fix it.
-
An error message pops up when editing an event. When editing an existing event, an error message pops up saying "Sorry, there was a problem editing this event. Please review the form for errors and try again". This error message usually occurs with online events, when an unsupported link is added to the “Add link” field. In this case, use a different link and if needed, paste the unsupported one in the event's description.
- A canceled event disappears from the group calendar page once it passes. Once a cancelled event passes, it may no longer appear in the group’s calendar page. We are aware of this inconsistency and we're working hard to fix it. In the meantime, we suggest saving the event's details before you cancel it in case you needed them to recreate the same event in the future.
While we work to fix all three of these issues, we suggest to:
-
Change device to access Meetup. If the issue is occurring on mobile, try accessing Meetup and joining your group on desktop and vice-versa. Sometimes, changing platform makes a difference!
-
Uninstall and re-install the Meetup app on your mobile device. If you're only having one of these issues on Meetup's mobile app, try uninstalling and re-installing it again on your device, making sure you're downloading the app's latest version. Here are the relevant steps for both iOS and Android devices.
-

- If you're on desktop, specify the browser you're using (Chrome, Firefox, Safari...)
- If you're on mobile, specify your device's model and the app version you're currently on
