Getting to know your profile

After a careful review of user-submitted feature requests, Meetup is proud to unveil the newly redesigned site profile! More than simply showing the groups you’ve joined, your new profile makes it easier than ever to connect with the people you meet at events.

Your profile summary

In the left-hand panel, you’ll see a profile summary as it appears on the Meetup app. At a glance, you’ll see basic details like the number of groups you’ve joined, the number of events you’ve RSVP’d to, what you’re looking to do on Meetup, and your site bio. Learn more about updating your profile.

The basics

Basic details can easily be updated, like your account name or your profile picture. Any pictures you've previously uploaded for group profiles can be found by changing your profile picture and selecting Choose from library.

Your email address

When viewing your own profile, you can confirm the email address you've used to sign in. This can be helpful if you don't see your groups or can't find your organizer tools

👉 We treat your email address as personal information. It is not shown on your public profile and other members cannot see it. When you view your profile while logged in, you may see your email address, but that view is private to you. There is nothing you need to change to hide it—your email is not shared through your profile.

Shared interests

To be able to visit another member’s profile and see what you share in common with them, you'll need to start a Meetup+ subscription. After you subscribe, you'll be able to compare the Looking to and About me sections of your respective profiles, as well as your interests and any shared groups!

👉 Every member can manage their privacy settings to show as much information as they'd like. Learn more about hiding your interests.
