Whether you signed up using an email and password or through Facebook, Google, or Apple, you can update the email address associated with your Meetup account at any time. The steps depend on how you log in and whether you still have access to your old email.

🔗 If your account was created using Facebook, Google, or Apple
If you signed up through a third-party login, you must first create a Meetup password before you can change your email.
To create a Meetup password:
Navigate to the Account Management tab in your settings.
Enter the email address you use for Facebook, Google, or Apple.
Click Submit — you'll get an email with instructions to create a Meetup password.
Once you create a password, you can update your email address following the instructions above.
📭 If your old email is closed, no longer exists, or you can’t access it
This is a common situation (e.g., an old email has been deleted, a work email account is disabled, or a mailbox is closed).
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ If you can STILL log in to your Meetup account
You can update your email without needing access to the old one. Simply follow the standard steps to update your email (Desktop or Mobile above). Meetup does not require confirmation from your old email.
❌ If you CANNOT log in and you cannot access your old email
You won’t be able to reset your password. Learn more about changing your email address if you can’t log in and can't access your email.
If you can't access your original email or don't see the edit option, we can help update your account email after we verify your identity. When you contact us, include as many details as you can to confirm ownership, such as:
Names of Meetup members you recently messaged
The name of the first Meetup group you joined
The approximate date of your last login
Once we receive your information, we'll review it promptly and guide you through the next steps to securely update your email address.
If you're still having trouble, it helps to include screenshots or a brief screen recording and tell us how you're logging in (iOS or Android app, desktop web, or mobile web).
