Sometimes, you're notified of a new message in your inbox that doesn't appear when you try and access the message itself.
When that happens, we suggest trying these few steps to overcome the issue:
- Change device. If the issue is occurring on mobile, try accessing your DMs on desktop and vice versa. Sometimes, changing platforms makes a difference!
- Uninstall and reinstall the app from your mobile device. If you're having this issue with Meetup's mobile app, try uninstalling and reinstalling it on your device, making sure you're downloading the app's latest version. Here are the relevant steps for both iOS and Android devices.
- Wait a few minutes for your DMs to load. Sometimes, the loading of messages gets stuck and requires a few minutes to show your conversations. Try waiting around 5 minutes for your conversations to load and see if they appear.
One possible reason you can’t find the conversation in your Meetup inbox is that the member who sent the message no longer has an active account. When a user's account is blocked or deactivated, their message history is also removed, making the conversation unavailable.
