The true value and magic of any group or event has always been the connections you make with other members! Now it’s easier and more comfortable than ever to make those connections, using a specially-designed feature available to anyone who has attended an event.
Making a connection
After attending an event, you can decide if you want to stay in contact with any of the people that you met. Meetup will invite you to make connections with anyone who attended that event, or you can navigate to your Connections tab on the app or website.
You have 24 hours after an event ends to take action. While you make your selections, that member also makes theirs. Connections are mutual. If two people both select each other, then they become connections.
Connections are basically a contact list only visible to you. Once a connection has been made, you can see who you’ve connected with in the Connections tab on the Meetup app or website.
Members who have made a connection can plan to attend their next event together. Start a conversation with your new connection!
If you didn’t meet anyone at your last event, find out who will be there at your next event.
Making more connections
Most members can make three selections for a connection per event and cannot undo their selection.
Organizers and Meetup+ subscribers may make unlimited selections per event. They also get unlimited undo’s, and can see who has already selected them. Learn more about upgrading to Meetup+ or become an organizer by starting a group.
