Editing a Meetup event

When plans change or new details arise, it’s important to keep your members informed. You can edit an event title, description, location, and more from the event page.

If you edit one event in a series, it will separate from the other events in the series, and you won’t be able to make any further changes to that series by editing that event. Learn more about editing a repeating series of events

To edit an event

Desktop and mobile web

  1. Select Your Events.
  2. Find the event you want to edit, and click on it. If you want to edit a saved draft, look for the desired event under the ✏️ Drafts tab.
  3. Once you're in the event you want to edit, click ⚙️ Organizer tools, then Edit Event.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Confirm your edits by clicking Save as draft or hit Publish if you're ready to go live!

Meetup App for iOS/Android

  1. Tap Edit from your event's page
  2. Make your changes
  3. Save the new event details

💡 When you update the start time of your event, the end time will automatically adjust to maintain the previously set duration (by default, this is two hours). If you'd like to set a different end time, be sure to change the event duration by selecting the Set an end time... option from the dropdown menu.
