A map pin shows the exact location your group is meeting. If you organize outdoors or if Google Maps doesn't accurately display your event on the map, you can edit your event's map pin.
We use Google Maps to power location search and suggestions. If a place is not properly listed in Google's database, it may not auto-populate when you create an event. This can also cause an event to default to "Online" if no valid address is selected.
Moving the map pin will not change the address in the Location section.

What if my location doesn't appear in search?
If your place doesn't appear in search, you can still set the correct in-person location:
Enter the street address in the Location field (for example: 221B Baker Street, NW1 6XE, London, UK).
Choose Edit map pin and drag the pin to the exact spot. If you have coordinates, place the pin there.
Add a clear location label in the event description (for example: "Sherlock Holmes' house").
Make sure the event type is set to In-person.
💡Tip: To make the place auto-suggest in the future, request an update in Google Maps. Open Google Maps and search for the location or its coordinates. Use Suggest an edit or Add a missing place to add the place name and address. Once Google approves the addition, it will appear in our location search automatically, and you'll be able to select it when creating events.
