If you joined a group that requests Member Dues to be a member, but want to stop paying them, you're always free to leave the group at any moment. You can also contact the Organizer to ask if you can remain in the group without paying dues, or leave before the next billing date to avoid future charges.
If you were charged member dues or event fees short before leaving the group, you can request a refund directly from the group's Organizer, as they are the ones managing the group payments. To address a recent charge, open a payment dispute through your profile:

How do I know if a payment I made was for group dues?
If your monthly charge is billed by Meetup LLC, it's a member due set by your group's Organizer, not a subscription through Apple or Google Play.
💡 The invoice you receive for dues payments always include the name of the group you're being charged for. Take a look at the invoice or receipt you received via email to understand which group the payment was linked to.
Organizers set their own refund policies.
We can only issue refunds in certain cases where the payment was processed through Stripe, our integrated payment processor. We cannot assist with payments made off our platform, in cash, or through third-party tools like PayPal or Venmo.
If you believe a charge was fraudulent or misused our payment system, please try to resolve it with the organizer first. If you still need help, contact us with proof of payment through Stripe and a copy of your conversation with the organizer. We may evaluate further assistance in line with our Terms of Service.
