As primary organizer of a group, you can always add one or more Event Hosts to any of your events. Event Hosts help you manage your events by sharing responsibilities such as answering questions, greeting attendees, or running the activity.
You can add Event Hosts to your events in two ways:
When creating a new event, or
By editing an event that already exists (but that hasn't taken place yet)
Find below the details to add Event Hosts in both scenarios!
1. Add a Host While Creating a New Event
You can assign one or more Even Hosts before the event is published.
Steps
Click Create event in your group.
Enter the event title, date, description, and any other required details.
Scroll to the Hosts section.
Search for and choose the member you want to assign.
Click on the plus button to assign them as a host.
Publish the event.
Result:
The selected member(s) will appear as Event Hosts on the event page immediately after the event is posted.
2. Add a Host to an Existing Event
You can assign one or more Event Hosts at any time after an event has already been created.
Steps
Open the event you want to update.
Click Manage on the Attendees section.
Search for the member and click on the three-dot button next to their name.
Select Make event host.
Result:
The new host appears instantly on the event page and receives host permissions.
Who Can Be an Event Host
Any group member, including members of your leadership team, can be added as a host.
Organizers, co-organizers, and members with permission to edit events can assign hosts.
Multiple hosts can be added to a single event.
What if I change my mind and I want to remove an Event Host?
As primary organizer of a group, you're free to edit and remove permissions for Event Hosts and anyone else in your Leadership team, including Co-Organizers and other roles.
To remove an Event Host from a single event or a series of events, follow these few steps:
- Open the event you'd like to remove your host from (if it's a series of events you want to change, just open a random one in that series)
- Click Organizer tools > Edit event
- 💡 If you wish to edit a whole series of repeating events, make sure you flag Edit this and all following, otherwise your change won't apply to all events in that series!
- Click Edit, then scroll to the end of the event editor and remove the hosts you don't want to be nominated for the series of events (or add new ones if you wish)
- When you're done, click Save changes
