Sharing an event on social media

Anyone in a group (organizers and members) can share an event. Flyers, however, can only be saved on the web.

You have two options:

• Share the event

  • Works on web and mobile app.

  • Post directly to social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

  • Or copy the event link and share it anywhere.

• Save the flyer

  • Works on the web only.

  • Download the event flyer as a file.

  • You can then share it manually (WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or print it.

Ways to Access Share/Save Options (Web)

On the web, you can reach Share / Save options from three places:

1. After announcing the event

   • A sharing modal appears automatically.

2. On the event page

   • Click the Share button at the bottom of the screen.

3. From the event image

   • Hover over the image and select Share flyer.

From any of these entry points, you can:

• Share the event on social media or copy its link.

• Save the flyer to your device (web only).

Android App

1. Navigate to the group homepage.

2. Under the events section, tap See all events.

3. Select the event you want to share from the Upcoming or Past tab.

4. Tap the Share button in the upper right-hand corner.

5. Choose your preferred sharing method. (You may be prompted to log in to that channel.)

iOS App

1. Navigate to the group homepage.

2. Under the events section, tap See all.

3. Open the event you want to share from the Upcoming or Past tab.

4. Tap the Share button in the upper right-hand corner.

5. Choose your preferred sharing method. (You may be prompted to log in to that channel.)

Other Notes

• If the group is public, the shared link leads to the event page.

• If the group is private, the shared link may lead to the group homepage instead. Learn more about content visibility settings.

Known Issue

• Event images may not display when sharing on Facebook (either from the Meetup app or by pasting the link).

• Our technical team is investigating. Please keep your Meetup app updated for fixes.
