Use the toggles at the bottom of the screen to manage your profile’s privacy settings, including the visibility of your groups, your interests, and controlling who can send you direct messages.

When visiting other members’ profiles, you may only see their details if you’ve shared your own.

  • Member+ is a monthly subscription that allows members to customize their experience on the Meetup app. Those who subscribe to Member+ can access exciting features and benefits, some previously offered only to organizers, including:

    • Exemption from service fees when RSVPing to paid events
    • Full access to the "Who will be there" feature for upcoming events
    • "First to Know" - receive event announcements sooner, along with organizers and event hosts!
    • A distinct Member+ badge on your sitewide profile
    • An ad-free experience of Meetup across all platforms
    • Custom app icons for your phone's home screen

Meetup organizers get access to these same features, and can see which of their members has subscribed to Member+. Identifying these more active and engaged members helps organizers select new leadership teammates, craft new events, and expand their group.

    Subscribing to Member+

To subscribe to Member+, go to your Account Settings in the Meetup app. A small subscription fee (prices vary by region) allows you to experience all of the above features through the app.

  • Advertising helps us to ensure that Meetup can continue to provide the best possible experience for our users, without increasing the organizers' fee.

You may see unobtrusive ads in email newsletters and other areas of our platform. We plan to work with advertisers that make sense for our community and yours.

If you'd like to remove advertisements from your Meetup experience, try upgrading to Member+ or setting up an organizer subscription.

If you believe an advertisement has violated our Terms of Service, you may report an ad.

  • When you sign up for Meetup or log into your existing Meetup account with Facebook, your Facebook account automatically connects to your Meetup account—whether you register from the Desktop website, Mobile website, or the Meetup app. When you connect your Facebook account, you will be sharing your activity with your Facebook friends. You can change this setting from the Desktop website.

Connecting your Meetup account to your Facebook account:

    - Lets you log into Meetup through Facebook
    - Makes it easy to share events
    - Allows you to see the activity of your Facebook friends on Meetup
    - Allows us to notify your Facebook friends when you join a new Meetup group or RSVP to an upcoming event.

Note: Your Facebook friends will not be told about private groups you join or private events you RSVP to.

Facebook and Meetup accounts are automatically connected when you register for Meetup or log in through Facebook. When your Facebook account and Meetup account are connected, we may collect and use your friends list, public profile information, and email address according to our Privacy Policy.  We won't post to Facebook unless you ask us to do so, and you can disconnect from Facebook any time you'd like.

It's currently only possible to connect your Facebook account and Meetup account on Desktop Web.

    To do so:
    - Click on your Profile icon in the upper right hand corner
    - Select Settings from the dropdown menu
    - Scroll down to Your Facebook Settings and click Connect with Facebook
    - Click Allow on the popup

You can remove the connection between Facebook and Meetup by following the same steps.

If you receive an error message while trying to link your accounts, please contact us by clicking 'Still need help?' below. Please include a link to your Facebook profile.

Note: You can only connect a personal Facebook account to Meetup. You can't link a Meetup account to a Facebook group or page. It must be connected to a personal Facebook account.

Connecting your Facebook and Meetup accounts is not the same as simply displaying a link to your Facebook profile on your Meetup profile. If you'd only like to link to your Facebook account, you can find more information here.
