Meetup is always looking out for the security of our members. If we detect a new or different login, we’ll send a notification to the email address connected to your Meetup account. Receiving this email doesn't necessarily mean your account has been compromised.
If you recognize this login, no further action is needed at this time.
If you did not attempt to access your account and do not recognize the login, please change your password immediately.
If you didn't sign in from the location provided in the email:
If you did recently login to your Meetup account but the information in the email shows a different location, please note that the data provided is approximate and may be inaccurate. The location may be impacted by the location where the IP address is registered or where the IP controller is located, cellular IPs and VPNs or proxies.

Keep your private information safe with safe sign-in methods and online habits. Use these tips to protect your account:
- Create a strong password
- Sign out of public computers when you're done
- Avoid phishing by not clicking links you're unsure about, even from friends
- Report any suspicious emails
- Check your Account Settings to confirm that your information is up-to-date.
If you believe your account was accessed without your permission, immediately change your password.

By default, anyone can see a list of Meetup group's you're a member of on your profile. You can hide this list of groups from your profile in your privacy settings. Your membership in a Meetup group may still be visible in other places depending on the group's content visibility settings.
To hide your list of groups on your profile:
Desktop and mobile web instructions
- Click the circular profile button in the top right-hand and then Settings.
- Click Privacy.
- Check or uncheck the section "Show Meetup groups on profile."
Android App
- From the Home tab, tap your circular profile button in the upper right-hand corner.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Tap the slider labeled "Show groups on profile."
- Tap the Checkmark button.
iOS App
- From the Home tab, tap your circular profile icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Tap on the Pencil icon.
- Tap the slider labeled "Show groups on profile."
- Tap Save.

The interests you select help to connect you with groups that may interest you. By default, anyone can see a list of the interests you selected on your profile. You can hide this list from your profile in your privacy settings.
To hide your interests on your profile:
