If you’ve logged in to your Meetup profile and your groups or upcoming events aren’t showing up in your profile, you’re most likely running into one of the following situations:
1. Mobile-app authentication isn’t working
If you’re using Meetup’s mobile app and things look blank or outdated:
-
Log out of the app, then log back in to refresh your session.
-
If that doesn’t help, uninstall the app, wait a minute, then reinstall the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
2. You’re in the wrong account
If you’ve ever signed up with more than one email, you may have opened the “other” profile instead of the one that’s a member of your groups. To verify:
-
On mobile, uninstall then reinstall Meetup (or on web, simply sign out).
-
Log in with the email you originally used for those groups.
-
On the app, tap your Profile → Settings → ⚙️ Account Management and confirm the email address.
-
If it’s not the right one, log out and log back in with your correct credentials.
💡 If you’re unsure which email address is linked to your main Meetup account, you can double-check by seeing which address regularly receives notifications from your Meetup groups.
3. The group has been closed
Groups sometimes shut down:
-
By the organizer, who may have chosen to transfer the group's ownership to someone else or retire the group.
-
By Meetup, if it repeatedly violates our Community Guidelines.
To check, search for the group’s name in Meetup’s search bar or visit the group’s URL. If the page shows “Group not found,” it’s likely been closed.
4. You’ve been removed or banned from the group
5. You’re hitting a mobile-app bug
If none of the above applies and you’re 100% in the right account on the latest app version, it could be a glitch. Try:
-
Logging out and back in again.
-
Uninstalling, waiting a few minutes, then reinstalling.
If the issue persists, please contact Meetup Support with your device model, OS version, and a brief description and screenshot or screen recording of what you’re seeing. We’ll help you locate and get back to your groups.
