To allow charges for recurring payments to occur seamlessly and avoid interruptions of service, make sure the card on file and your billing information is up-to-date.
You may need to provide a card for several kinds of payments: a recurring Organizer subscription, a Meetup+ subscription, or to cover for recurring membership dues to keep being part of a group.
Here are the steps you can take to update your credit card information, depending on the service you're paying for:
If you’re subscribed to a Standard, Pro, or Meetup+ Plan
- From your Payment methods page, click on the card you'd like to update
- On the following page, enter your new payment information
- Click Submit
❗️If you started your subscription via the iOS or Android Meetup app, you can manage your subscription via the App Store or Google Play Store on your device, depending on your platform.
To cancel your subscription and stop the charges, follow the instructions listed in the article Canceling a recurring subscription.
👉🏻 If you are an organizer and see a button to "Become the organizer" for one or more of your former groups, it's possible you were stepped down as organizer while your payment wasn't updated. Once you have a new payment method on file, you're welcome to step back up as the organizer of your former groups by clicking on that button!
If you're trying to pay membership dues to keep being an active member of a group
- Log in to your Meetup profile via mobile or a web browser
- Find the group you need to pay dues for
- Access the checkout page for that group and select an existing card or add a new one for the payment to be completed
For more details on how to pay membership dues, please refer to this article: "Paying Member Dues after the End of the Free Trial".
To cancel your membership in a group and stop the recurring charges, follow the steps listed in the article "How do I leave a Meetup group?".
