Meetup Pro subscription fees are not refundable. However, consumer protection regulations may apply to subscribers in the European Union.
PRO subscriptions renew automatically to ensure there are no disruptions in your benefits—particularly because you are an organizer, and we don't want you to risk losing your groups. If you want to cancel your subscription before the next payment, you can follow the steps outlined in Canceling a Recurring Subscription article.
If you don't have a Meetup Pro subscription, check out our standard subscription support.
What happens if I cancel my subscription during my Meetup Pro Free trial period?
If you cancel during your Meetup Pro trial period, we will not charge you for your Meetup Pro subscription.
What happens if I want to cancel my subscription after the Meetup Pro Free trial period?
If your trial is coming to an end and you would like to cancel your Meetup Pro subscription, you must complete the cancellation process at least one (1) day before the start of your next billing cycle to prevent automatic renewal of your Meetup Pro subscription for the following month. You will still have access to a group’s information through the end of the current cycle.
What happens to my groups when my organizer subscription expires?
If you cancel your subscription, it will enter a thirty-day grace period at the end of your billing cycle. During this time, you can step down and nominate a new organizer. When your grace period ends, you'll automatically be stepped down as the organizer of your groups.
Once your subscription expires, we’ll notify your group's leadership members of your departure and invite them to step up as the new organizer. After that, we’ll extend the invitation to all group members. Your group will stay active under its new organizer or, if no one volunteers, it will automatically close. You can also choose to step down or close your group permanently.
❗️Closing a group is a permanent decision. Once your groups are shut down, they can no longer be found on the platform, and they can't be revived or reinstated on our side. However, you're always welcome to create a new group after you start a new subscription.
What happens if I want to decrease the number of groups in my network?
If you would like to decrease the number of groups in your network, you must close the unwanted group at least one (1) day before the start of your next billing cycle to prevent an automatic charge of the previous number of groups for the following month. If you do not want to permanently close them, we suggest stepping down and leaving them open for others to step in or transferring them to another organizer.
If you are decreasing the number of groups in your subscription, the remaining groups will not be affected.
