It’s always free to join a Meetup group as a member, but in order to create or lead a Meetup group, organizers need an active paid subscription. Organizer subscriptions are tied to an organizer's personal account, not the Meetup group(s) they run.
We offer two types of organizer subscription plans: Basic and Unlimited. Both plans allow organizers to lead up to 3 Meetup groups. If you're interested in organizing a larger network of Meetup groups, we suggest you check out Meetup Pro.
Basic subscription
Under the Basic organizer subscription plan, an organizer can have up to 50 members in each Meetup group. It also allows an organizer to add up to three other members to the leadership team for each Meetup group. Note: The basic plan is not available to organizers who start their subscription through the Meetup iOS app.
Unlimited subscription
Organizers with an Unlimited organizer subscription can add an unlimited number of members to each of their Meetup groups, as well as unlimited members to each group’s leadership team.
Under both plans, organizers have the option to change to a different subscription plan.
