Some organizers can request dues to be part of one or more of their groups. Charges occur automatically through the payment method you set in your profile and can never occur unless a payment method is already registered.
If you received a charge from a group on Meetup, it's because the following conditions apply:
- You have a payment method on file
- You are part of the group that charged you
- The group's organizer set recurring dues for its members
If you no longer want to be charged to be part of a group, you can leave the group in question at any time. If you ever decide to re-join the group during the period that was covered by your payment, Meetup won't ask for an additional charge.
To request a refund of the charge that occurred, we recommend getting in touch with the group's organizer, as they may have set refund policies that are unique to their groups and manage their transactions—including refunds.
