We’re sorry to hear you can’t access your subscriber’s benefits after paying for them. This scenario can be very frustrating!
When this happens, there are a few things to consider to troubleshoot the issue and ensure a smooth experience:
Verify that you’re logged in to the right account. If you can’t access your subscriber’s tools after logging in to your Meetup profile, there’s a chance that you have more than one account and accessed the wrong one. To double-check that you’re looking at the right profile, follow these few steps:
- From your account, click your profile icon, then Settings.
- From the list of settings on the left, click ⚙️ Account Management.
- Verify the email associated with the profile you’re logged in: if the email address does not correspond to the one associated with the account you want to access, click again on your profile icon and then on Log out. You can now log back in to the right profile.
Verify that the subscription you started doesn’t include limitations to what you can unlock. Your experience could also be due to having started a limited subscription, such as a Starter plan. In this case, some of the available organizer’s features may be locked behind a paywall until you upgrade to a higher plan (Standard or PRO). To learn more about current limitations, you can refer to this article.
Additionally, make sure you haven’t started a Meetup+ plan instead of an organizer one! Meetup+ is a paid plan that unlocks an enhanced experience for members, but doesn’t allow you to create groups or events. Find out more about what a subscription to Meetup+ includes in this article.
Verify your current subscription status. Lastly, it’s possible that your payment failed and your subscription wasn’t activated. To verify this, click Organizer Subscription from your profile’s Settings and make sure your current subscription is still active:
-
- If no subscription is shown, it’s possible you’re logged in to the wrong account. In such a case, follow the steps above to access the right one and see the groups you’re an organizer of.
- If your subscription is marked as expired, you no longer have access to your groups and events. You can, however, reactivate it from your Organizer Subscription settings and get back to your previous experience as organizer.
