Meetup members can opt to hide certain information about themselves and their use of the Meetup site.

Facebook settings

To adjust the settings related to Facebook, log into Meetup and click on 'Account' in the top right. Scroll down to 'Your Facebook settings'.

Other resources you may want to check out:
Facebook - Protecting your personal data
Facebook - What apps and websites can and can't access

Email and greetings permissions

Log in, and click on the profile menu in the top right corner. Click 'Settings.' In the left column on the next page, select 'Email and notifications'.

Scroll down until you see the Other Meetup email section, which is just after the list on Meetup Groups that you belong to.

You can set who is allowed to email you through Meetup, or post a Greeting to your Profile there.

Be sure to hit 'Save' when you're done updating your settings.

Hide my list of Meetups on my profile

To hide the list of your Meetup Groups on your profile, make sure you're logged into your Meetup account, and then click on your profile menu in the top right. Select 'Profile.'

If your Groups aren't hidden, you'll see a link to 'Hide my list of Meetups on my profile'.

If they're already hidden, you'll see a link to 'Unhide my list of Meetups'.

If your Meetup Groups are hidden, the list of Groups you're in will not show up when other folks look at your profile in a Meetup Group. If your Facebook and Meetup accounts are linked, we will not show your Meetup Groups memberships to your Facebook friends in the 'Find your Facebook friends' box.

Hide my interests

To hide your interests, log onto your Meetup account, click on the profile menu in the top right, and select 'Profile.'

Beneath your photo, you should see a box with 'Interests'. Just click Hide my interests from others' and you should be all set!
